Lauren Glaser (Jayne Hark's daughter)
Hello. My name is Lauren Glaser, and I am the daughter of the late Jayne Ellen Hark. I have been inspired to create this page to learn more about my Mom, particularly as the 20th anniversary of her passing is quickly approaching on 7/22/22.
My Mom's mother and father (Marilyn and Fred Hark) have both passed, as have both of her sisters. As such, I am interested in learning if anyone has any information (stories, memories, impressions, etc.) about my Mom as a youngster and her family. Please feel free to leave a comment here or on my Mom's memorial page, or send me a message directly. I want to hear it all - the good, the bad, the ugly, the sad - no sugar-coating necessary :) Thank you so much for allowing me to be here and for sharing in any way you can.
Warm regards,
Lauren Glaser

Jayne Ellen Hark was the daughter of the late Marilyn and Fred Hark, and the mother of three children and now two grandkids, who I know she would have adored had she lived to meet them.
As some of you may know, my mother had a somewhat complicated upbringing. All the same, she was very intelligent and big-hearted, and graduated from Curry College with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. While in college, she married my father, David Glaser, also of Newton, with whom she had three kids (thank goodness for me!) that she raised in Brookline.
Sadly, starting around 1996/7, my Mom was a fighter in a long and painful battle with alcoholism , something that ran in her father's lineage. Despite her hardworking nature, lust for life, and deep love for her children, and as much as she tried through AA and other means, she could not win against alcohol, and died from related causes in 2002.
