I, too, have fond memories of Gary from Oak Hill Park- he always had a warm and upbeat personality- sounds like he made a huge difference in this world.
I'm so sorry to learn of Gary's passing. I have great memories of him. I enjoyed spending time with him and Verne at the 50th reunion. He led an impressive and impactful life.
Gary lived just a few blocks from me and was a kind and caring friend throughout middle school and high school. I treasured his warmth and empathy but didn't foresee the huge impact he would make on the world. He will be missed, but remembered with a smile. Susie
Gary was one of those people you couldnt help wanting to be with for his kindness and his humor. I will always remember how I felt 'seen' when I hung out with him, I could be myself. Gary, you are in my thoughts!
When we were kids, Gary and I used to take the MTA downtown to Jack's Joke Shop, after which we would visit his dad Arnold's office. We were close friends back in OHP, and we unfortunately lost touch. It's warming to hear what he made out of his life, and the difference he seemed to have made for so mnay people. RIP, Gary.
Gary grew up just a few houses down from me on Wiswall Road and I have nothing but the best memories of him and his kind friendly nature. It was good to reconnect with him a reunion or two ago. It was really great reading about what a life he led advocating healthcare for others and being so cheerful about it. He will be missed. Love to his family, may his memory be a blessing.
I too was so moved reading about Gary's lifelong dedication and service as a physician, and as a humanitarian. I am saddened at the loss of yet another member of our class.Turning 70 this past year has been so humbling. May Gary's life serve as an inspiration for us all, and May his memory be a blessing.
