Christina Barros (Kramer)

Mark and other friends of NSHS:

I just registered for myself and my brother, Ric, whom many of you will remember.  Ric went with us through elementary school (Memorial School followed by Countryside ES), then Meadowbrook.  He chose to go to Valley Forge Military Academy after that, but he stayed in touch with many friends.  I'm glad he agreed to accompany me to this reunion.  My husband Jeff would have, too, but it would take too much coaxing and bargaining on my part :).

Many thanks to Mark for all the hard work.  We would be absolutely nowhere if he did not step up to the plate.

One more thought: I unfortunately do not have my high school year book anymore.  I hope those of you who still have yours will bring them to the reunion!

Hello Mark,

The 40th reunion was great and I know a lot of hard work to get us to respond.  I found your efforts very worth while and look forward to the next one. 45th or 50th?   It should be a group effort next time. Put my name on the list to work with the group. I know that those that did not come really missed out on NHS memories.

Thank you again for you time.

Hi Mark,

Fantastic Job! Might have been one of the largest reunion turnouts of all classes and it is all due to your efforts.

Thanks Again.

Maybe if we planned a 45th anniversary well in advance we could all attend.  I had work restraints as well but truly regret missing the event!

If anyone is still active on this site, would anyone be interested in or planning a 50th reunion?

It’s crazy that our class was “just” celebrating 40 years and now we’re almost at 50 years!

I would be interested even though I live in Boca Raton, Florida.

I would go. I'm in NYC.

Thanks Mark for reaching out.

Since we don't know the timeline on getting through the pandemic, perhaps the September date might be better. I also prefer visiting New England in September.

It is a ways away but already looking forward to it.

Thank you!!!!

Hi Mark and all,

50th Reunion  blows my mind, but count me in.

Can we clarify? Are you talking April vs September 2021 or 2022?

Regards to all,

Hello to all! Hope everyone is being patiently optimistic. I was blessed in being administered the Moderna vaccine series. I had finally retired from the Medical/Legal corporate world in late 2019. Due to my expertise in mobilization of emergency medical services, I volunteered to help in setting up testing sites and then onto the expeditious vaccine rollout and real time vaccinations. It is a daunting task, but well worth the effort. When anyone is hesitant about the immunization, I calmly look at the individual and plainly state that " if most US citizens and global countries had not pushed for the smallpox vaccines and for the Salk/ Sabin drinks/immunizations when we were young, we would not be here today to have any discussion".Many tell me that they never thought about the vaccines in that manner. It helped to ease their anxiety and concerns a bit. As we all know, at our stage in life, "nothing is ever a given and there are often no guarantees", however, we have such a limited amount of time on this earth; give yourself the opportunity to live longer and help humanity to thrive and survive. Just saying!  I am excited about our 50th Reunion and I am feverently hoping that I will own a primary home back in Mass. by 2022. I have lived in NY since 1980. I would suggest leaning towards having the reunion in September of 2022. The reasoning for that is, we most likely will need booster immunizations for all of the vaccines. Once most of our population has a first round, boosters will become available this coming Fall of 2021. Until those who have received the first series catch up to the necesssry boosters to protect against future variants, we should be fair and be as protected as possible for a pleasurable and safe Reunion. I think iof so many of you with fond memories. Please stay safe and well. Newton South High was and is still considered one of the most educational public high schools in our Country. Let's prove all of the statistics are right. Push for solid science and a little prayer also goes a long way. Love to you all. -  Joyce Holzman-Lieblich :)

Looking forward to attending and as we discussed September would probably be a better date than April.

Stay well,

2021 is for reparations to our lives. 2022 is for getting out there. Both my wife (Dorene (Krieks) Blair - class of '73) are looking forward to it. We've lived in Southern California the past 2 1/2 years and will gladly make trip!!
A safe, healthy, and happy future to all.
